Tiffany Bowling, Akeimos Coleman, Troy Colvard, and Melacia Cullars, members of the Wilkes Youth Leadership program, attended a Youth Leadership Summit at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. They were accompanied by Dorothy Jordan, Youth Development coordinator for the Wilkes County Community Partnership.

The conference was hosted by Governor Sonny Perdue. Saturday was an orientation day for those attending. At the end of the day the students were divided into clusters where they met the members of their cluster. The day concluded with a scavenger hunt which taught valuable lessons including team work and how to effectively communicate despite possible barriers.

The students met again in clusters on Sunday to discuss various topics such as the similarities between the various problems the different counties of Georgia face. They discussed their upcoming projects which they would be presenting the next day.

Students enjoyed a dance that evening and each county group met to discuss the next day's presentations.
