Persons applying must have a copy of Social Security cards for everyone in the household; a copy of the last 30 days income for everyone in the household 18 years old or older. They must have a most recent heating bill, and a picture identification and document showing proof of age.

No calls will be accepted regarding the status of an application once it has been completed. Letters cannot be forwarded to utility companies. The pink copy will be mailed immediately after application has been approved and processed.

"We regret this inconvenience, however, the Energy Assistance Program is not an emergency program and we encourage clients to continue paying on their heating bills," said a spokesman for the Energy Assistance Program. "Limited personnel and the need to process applications as quickly as possible make this necessary," the spokesman said.
