Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the 16th annual meeting of the Penfield Christian Home Saturday. A delicious meal was prepared by the clients there. After lunch, an interesting program was presented, including several testimonies from former clients and special music by the New Apostles. The message was delivered by Rev. Frank Cox, pastor of North Metro Baptist Church. Congratulations to Pam McCarty and Angie Strother, owners of Bee Southern, on winning the small business award given by the Washington Wilkes Chamber of Commerce at the annual awards dinner Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance spent Wednesday through Friday with her mother, Mrs. Ruby Johnson, in Tifton, going especially to attend the funeral of Mrs. Lance's sister's father-in-law, Carlton Tyson. Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss visited Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins, Hannah and Stephanie visited Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis Saturday. Mrs. Iris Dyson visited Mrs. Michael Attwood and children Sunday afternoon. Whitney Branham's guest Saturday night was Dixie Lee Trimm of Washington. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Sunday afternoon were John Fradella of Greenwood, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huff of Athens.
