Our fall festival was a big success. We'll tell you all about it next week after a little rest. I know the cold weather really made the soup sell. The weather was perfect for festival. Congratulations to Rosalyn Adams for being the winner of the beautiful quilt. The winner of the hooked rug was Ouida Maney. Saturday was a day that everyone enjoyed visiting with people they see only once a year at the festival. It's like a reunion. Out-of-town visitors at the festival were the following: Gwin and Cliffy Ware from Martinez; Greg and Tammy Ware (son of Gwin and Cliffy) of Duluth; Jenny Crab (Gwin and Cliffy's daughter) of Nashville, Tenn.; David and Mary Ann Brown of Dillard, and their little grandson, Seth Price of Franklin, N.C.; Madeline and Eddie Poteet of Granbury, Texas; Joe Heard of Anderson, S.C.; Carolyn Snider and her daughter Rhonda and two granddaughters from Martinez; Ed Keener of Lincolnton; Glenn Hendrix of Hartwell, and Lynn Barton of Royston; Renee Flannagan, Jewell and Aubrey of Lincolnton; Kristy Bufford and Madison of Thomson; Doyle Looney of Anderson, S.C.; Tommy Echols of Cleveland, Tenn.; Marion Slaton of Atlanta; Graham Smith and sons, Marshall and Adam, of Snellville; Charles and Elizabeth Smith of Snellville; John Joe Ware of North Augusta; Betty Ann and Marvin Pitts of Stone Mountain; Mr. and Mrs. John Mell Pitts of Elberton; Claudia Bolton Ellenberg of Seneca, S.C.; Wesley and Mary Garrett of Grayson; Lem and Ellen LeRoy of Charlotte, N.C. Sydney Tyler of Hoschton spent the weekend with her grandparents, Kay and Alex Tyler. She participated in the kids fashion show at the fall festival. She has a smile made for TV. Celeste and O'Neal Adams had their precious little granddaughter, Abbey Range of Monroe, visiting with them from Thursday through Sunday. Margaret attended the First Federal retiree reunion in Chattanooga, Tenn. She visited with Phil and Marsha Hyman during her stay in Chattanooga. The Bobo family had an enjoyable stay at a cabin overlooking the Aska Mountain Range in Blue Ridge. Those arriving on Friday were Graydon and Pat Bobo, Jean and Edwin Sayer of Lexington, and Carol and John Grooms of Calhoun. Joining them Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Tallent and Alli of Carrollton and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bobo of McDonough. David Wakeman, Nellie Arnold Doherty's son, was seen on the Today Show last week. He was a member of the New York Marathon for the Team for Kids. We are glad to hear that Billie Ann Smith is doing well after her surgery. Jerry Wilson is home now and is doing better. We still need to keep him in our prayers. There will be a barbecue benefit held for Jerry on November 18 at the school gym. We are sorry to hear that due to lack of business our produce market will be open only two Saturdays a month. They will be open on the
first and third Saturdays. Let's give them some business so they will stay. Beulah Baptist Church will be having a revival from November 12 through 15 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tony Lee bringing the message each night and Rev. Tim Adams leading the music. At the festival Winifred Morgan asked that I put some little anecdote of my teaching days in the paper. He says he looks at the Tignall news section every week looking for something about my students. For those of you who have read my book, you will have heard this: Kristina said, after I had asked why she needed to go to the rest room so often, "I have kiddie problems." Leah Riordan piped up with, "Once when I was in the first grade I had kidneys too, and I didn't even tell anybody."
