We would like to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Dupree to Ebenezer Baptist Church. Dr. Dupree is serving as interim pastor and preached his first sermon Sunday as such. We had a good attendance and a fellowship meal after the service. He and Mrs. Dupree are from Plains but retired to Thomson. Our fall festival was a great success Saturday evening. There was a huge turnout for that too. We would like to thank each and every one who had a part in making the festival a success. Linda, Johnny, and Laurie Shelton were the chairmen and worked really hard on this festival. I went to my doctors in Augusta this week and also visited in Lincolnton. On Sunday I had dinner with my parents. My sister and brother-in-law, Nan and Mickey Goff of McCormick, joined us. We always enjoy "going home" and getting together. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips carried Mrs. Raye Price and Mrs. Evelyn West home to Dunn, N.C., Monday. On Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips met Greg Phillips of North Augusta and had lunch with him in Augusta. On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Phillips went to Conyers to visit Rebecca Phillips. They enjoyed lunch at the Cracker Barrel. They visited in Augusta Saturday. Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla visited the Phillipses several times last week. Russell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Sara Huff. They enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard and Peyton Sunday. Peyton Standard and Alec Dunaway, Mrs. Joyce Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Standard visited the Standards last week. Mrs. Sara Huff and Beulah Mae Freeman visited Mrs. Helen Young in Lincoln County Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shank of Lexington, S.C., visited Mrs. Hal Shank recently. Mrs. Grace Dunaway and Alec Dunaway visited Beverly Teasley in Lincoln County Monday evening and enjoyed supper with her. Tommy and Regina Dunaway and Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace during the week. Our prayer concerns include Mrs. Maude Griffith, Mrs. Rua Bell Davis, Barry Bailey, Lillie Crawford, Tommy Walton, Mrs. Willie Ruth Freeman, Mrs. Lois South, Mrs. Ethel Harris, Gary Rogers, Mike Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Nunn, Fred Corbett, Annette T. Neal, Charles Bradford, Jack Reynolds, Kathryn Padgett, Linda Albea, Lynn Gay, Henry Wallace, Bill Mobley, Evans Davis, Loretta Cates, Mildred Marett, Ronnie Callaway, Mrs. Dot Shank, Ed Burdette, Joe Griffin, Claire Nelson, Earnest Cathey, Roberta Roper, Mary Will Denard, Henrietta Leard, Mona Hall, Stephanie Chapman, and Mary Alice Rogers (missionary). Happy birthday to all who are celebrating birthdays this week. Miss Betty Moore and Tiffany Rogers visited Mrs. Barbara Adams during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Glenn, Jennifer Harper and Mike Hattfield spent the weekend in Monroe with Mr. and Mrs. Adam Harper. I visited Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Edmunds in Lincolnton last week. I think fall is beautiful. The colors of the trees have been so pretty this year in our area. I have enjoyed seeing God's beauty so very much this year. We had a cold Saturday and Sunday but it's time for that.
