Washington Personal Mention

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Heard have returned to Washington after an extended stay at their summer home in Helen. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Tyler of Norcross visited Sunday with Mrs. Richard Tyler. Charlie Burke of Statesboro was treated to a 21st birthday dinner and celebration by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kip Burke, in Augusta on Saturday. Mrs. Cread Brown, Luke and Porter, of Thomson were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gunter Jr. Wednesday through Sunday. On Sunday they had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hale, Emmeline and Isabelle, in Athens. Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Gunter attended "HONK!," a musical comedy based on the story of "The Ugly Duckling" in which Emmeline and Isabelle were members of the cast. "HONK!" was presented by the Oconee Youth Playhouse in the Oconee County Civic Center and was the last of eight performances. Mrs. Frank Story is home after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Olan Miller in Watkinsville on Thursday; several days with Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Solomon and Belle in Newnan and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Oliver in LaGrange. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mellen III of Birmingham, Ala., visited during the weekend with Mrs. R.E. Blue. Mrs. Mellen, the former Mary Phelps, participated in the weekend art festival. Mrs. John Gentry Jr., Anna and Caroline, of Athens visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pope Jr. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pope III and Wesley.
