Amy Lannae entertained at kitchen, linen shower Nov. 4

Amy Lannae, bride-elect of John Broadnax III of Athens, was guest of honor at a kitchen and linen shower and brunch on Saturday, November 4, at the Washington Woman's Club. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. James Meech, Mrs. Tony Powell and Mrs. Mickey Sisson.

For the occasion Miss Lannae chose a soft grey cashmere wool suit with ruffled edging on the lapel, collar and flounce skirt. She was presented a corsage of mixed fresh flowers enhanced with hot pink spray roses.

The clubhouse was beautifully decorated with ferns, other settings of greenery and fresh flowers.

Tables were covered in white cloths. The buffet was centered with an elegant arrangement of green button chrysanthemums, solidago, Alstroemeria lilies, hypericum berries, and bells of Ireland presented in a large crystal vase. These flowers were repeated in smaller settings on other tables as well in the brideelect's corsage.

From the buffet, guests enjoyed a delicious assortment of breakfast foods, coffee punch, and mimosas.

As guests arrived, they were welcomed by the hostesses and greeted the bride-elect. Guests registered in her bride's book at a table placed near the entrance at a table dressed and decorated in the same design as the buffet.

The hostesses presented Miss Lannae a wicker laundry basket that held a set of bath linens, bed linens, festive Christmas hand towels and an apron.

Forty guests were invited. Among the guests attending were members of her family, Mrs. Tommy Wells, Mrs. Lamont Lannae and Mrs. Tom Wells of Washington, Mrs. Herb Cole of LaFayette, Mrs. Russell Rainey of Evans, and Mrs. Kerry Herndon of Athens; the prospective bridegroom's family, Mrs. John Broadnax Jr. and Mrs. Pete Brown of Athens; also Katie Keith, Kelley Rhea and Tara Williamson of Athens; Mrs. Ryan Cathey and Mrs. John Hill of Madison; Mrs. Mark Weed of Rome; Mrs. Bryan Pulliam of Elberton; Mrs. Mark Nuhfer of Watkinsville; and Mrs. T. J. Quarles of Columbia, S.C.; in addition to a host of Miss Lannae's local high school classmates.
