Frederick Avery Corbett

Funeral services for Frederick Avery Corbett, 72, of Sardis Road, Rayle, were held Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Danner and Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment was in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Rayle. He died Saturday, November 11, at his home.

Mr. Corbett was a native of Roulette, Pa., and had lived in Wilkes County most of his life. He was the son of the late Harry Corbett and Ada Corbett and was the widower of Ann Boatwright Corbett. He was a clerk at Johnson Builders Supply for many years and was a member of the County Line Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include a stepson, Barry W. Echols, and his wife Dana of Ball Ground; a son, Barry Corbett of Washington; a daughter, Debbie Corbett, Washington; a brother, Danny Corbett, Washington; a sister, Dorla Adams, Washington; and a grandson, Parker Echols.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the County Line Baptist Church, Rayle (30660), or to Gideons International.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
