J. Thomas Drinkard Funeral services for J. Thomas "Tommy" Drinkard, 58, of Lincolnton, were held Saturday, November 11, 2006, at the Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Hinson and Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Interment was in the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln County. He died Wednesday, November 8, at Doctors Hospital, Augusta. Mr. Drinkard was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late John P. and Rebecca Fleming Drinkard. He had lived in Lincolnton most of his life. He was a former editor of The Lincoln Journal; a former employee of The News-Reporter; a former employee of Drinkard Litho in Greenwood, S.C., and at the time of his death owned Classic Printing in Lincolnton. He was a member of the Lincolnton United Methodist Church and the Sons of the American Legion #194. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Dawkins Drinkard, Lincolnton; a son, James T. "Jim" Drinkard, Augusta; two daughters, Lindsay Drinkard and Elizabeth Drinkard, both of Lincolnton; a brother, John P. "Johnny" Drinkard III, LaGrange; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Emily Drinkard. Pallbearers included Floyd Marlow, Bob Norman, Larry Campbell, Bob Drinkard, Robert Williams, and Bob Guillebeau.
Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
