Time to Go
By GARY TOOLE
When God has a special call on your life and your min

istry has lost its effectiveness, sometimes it's time to go - to go on to where God needs you.

This fellow told me a story that perfectly illustrates how it is sometimes in life when God is wanting us to move on, move up, and move out in His kingdom work.

The story is about how the eagle builds her nest high up in the mountains. She gathers heavy sticks and limbs and builds the foundation for the nest to make it strong. Then she lines it with briars and thorns. After that she gets grass to line the nest. Then she plucks feathers from her own body to cushion the nest and make it soft as a feather bed.

She then lays her eggs and they hatch. She mothers and watches over the little chicks feverishly, bringing them nourishment. Then when she knows it's time for them to leave the nest she begins to pull the feathers out of the nest, making it less comfortable. The chicks have grown and it's time to go, but they want to stay in their comfort zone. But the call of nature is now at hand and it's time to go. They have got a job to do elsewhere.

So the mother eagle now pulls all the grass out, making it very uncomfortable with the thorns and briars now exposed. Some of the baby eagles get the message and climb to the edge of the nest then fly away under the watchful eye of their mother.

As they soar downward, she soars with them in case they are not totally ready to fly when she can fly under them and let them land on her back. Then she will bring them back to the nest to try it again.

Some go voluntarily, but some have to be pushed out of the nest, but mom is there to catch them if they fall. The message is, "Sometimes it's time to go, but God will be with us if we will trust Him."

I have personally experienced that because I was like the baby eagles.

wanted to stay where I was, but God had other plans for me. Of course I was one of the ones that had to be kicked out of the nest and thank God for that. He was there to lead me and guide me and I praise Him for that and I can say amen.
