Georgia TASC gourmet booth will feature Barnett delicacies

If you've ever wondered how good some of the dishes are that win local, state, and regional cooking contests, now is your chance to find out.

Georgia TASC is sponsoring a gourmet food booth at the Livery Stable on Court Street, Washington, on December 9, during the Christmas Tour of Homes.

Celebrated Chef Joe Barnett will be seen in action as he serves up his Southern delicacies, including shrimp-and-grits and seafood gumbo. Containers will be available to go for these delicious dishes.

Also available will be an assortment of homemade pies and cakes, tea, or soft drinks. Cost of the shrimp-and-grits and seafood gumbo is $7.00 each. Desserts will be $2.00; and drinks, $1.00.

Georgia TASC is a center that provides services for developmentally disabled adults in Wilkes, Lincoln, and Taliaferro counties, located on Hospital Drive.

Hours for serving are from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
