Scouts introduced to aviation
On Saturday, November 18, Boy Scouts from Troop 34, who were working on their aviation merit badges, were given a tour of the Washington- Wilkes County Airport by Fixed Base Operator Chris Hughes and local pilot Harris Blackmon. Instruction on the basics components of an aircraft, maintenance procedures, airport operations, and an introductory flight were included. Scouts and their leaders participating were (kneeling, l-r) Jesse Denard, Will Price, Watson Wideman, (standing) Cliff Hargrove, John Keen, Walker Hargrove, Mason Klaus, Cody Denard, Jarrett Keen, Doug Standard, and Adam Standard.
