DeKalb Tech instructors tour Washington-Wilkes on Nov. 10

Instructors from DeKalb Technical College in Atlanta visited Washington Wilkes Friday, November 10. The tour group was led by Jacqueline Al-Azawi.

The group visited Callaway Plantation, Washington Plantation B&B, the Mary Willis Library, Washington Wilkes Historical Museum, and the Robert Toombs House. Before lunch they appreciated the delights of The Square.

After lunch at the historic Fitzpatrick Hotel where they were joined by Mrs. Al-Azawi's aunt, Mrs. Dell James, and her cousins, Barbara and Virgil Wolter, they went to see Kerry and Nancy McAvoy's vintage car village.

A much-anticipated visit to Dolores McAvoy's World War II Museum had to be rescheduled due to time restrictions.
