Save some time this holiday season
(MS) - Perhaps more precious than finding the perfect gift come the holiday season is finding the time to go out and look for it. Thanks to office parties, holiday pageants and get-togethers with family and friends, time is a rare commodity at this bustling time of year. That makes saving time essential to keeping your sanity. Consider the following tips this holiday season to save some time. + Get organized. Heading out the house to do holiday shopping without knowing what to look for is a recipe for wasting time. List the people you'll be purchasing presents for and what you'd like to get them. List a few extra items per person, just in case your first choice is sold out or not available. If you're having trouble coming up with ideas, ask the person what they might like. + Consolidate your efforts. Since you still have to run your regular errands while doing holiday shopping, try and consolidate those trips. For instance, going to the grocery store is something everyone needs to do. When you're out grocery shopping, pick something up for a party you might need to attend later in the week. + Start early. Like most people, you've probably said for years now that this is going to be the year where you beat the crowds and start your holiday shopping early. Keep true to that plan. Instead of waiting in long lines, you'll be getting some muchneeded R&R during the busiest season of the year. + Consider gift certificates or gift baskets. Particularly for relatives you haven't seen in a while, gift certificates and baskets can be a wonderful time- saver. Rather than fretting over what to get a person you rarely see, you can simply show your appreciation with a gift certificate to their favorite store or a gift basket full of treats. GG06B573
