A memorial service for Seba Williamson was held at Rock United Methodist Church Saturday afternoon with a large crowd attending to celebrate his life. It was a beautiful service with several selections
of piano music by the pastor of the church, Rev. Gerri Lancaster. She spoke of Seba and his family using verses from the Bible as she spoke and then led in a comforting prayer. The congregation sang "The Old Rugged Cross." Afterwards everyone was invited to stay and have a fellowship meal with the family. Seba was a good Christian man and very dedicated to his family. He was only 53 years of age when he lost his long battle with cancer. His closeknit family, including his mother, Ann Williamson, daughter and son, Sara and Alex, two brothers, Jessie and David, two sisters, Pat Preston and Karen Petit, and other relatives, will miss him very much as will everyone who knew him. Our sincere heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Bob Fisher who died Friday. Bob will be greatly missed by all his friends and his loving family. Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington. Barry McAvoy of Danburg brought a wonderful message at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday morning in the absence of Rev. John Mark Carpenter who is recuperating nicely after having surgery during the week. Our prayers go out for him for a quick and complete recovery. Accompanying Barry to the service were his wife, Barbara, and their daughter. I worked with Barry at Clark-Schwebel for many years and it was good to see him again. Please continue to remember in prayer the Corbett family, the Williamson family, the Davis family, the Vaughn family, the Fisher family, Priscilla Maxwell, Faye Johnson, Dorothy Callaway, Martha Williford, Kathryn Padgett, Stephanie Chapman, Gary Rogers, Pete Poss, ed Crooke, Mike Webb, Roberta Roper, Thomas Wheatley, Thomas Bunch, Ellie Frey, Sara Lynn Hyatt, Grady Rogers, Ken Spooner, Louise Pless, and Chris Carpenter.
