Brown earns maintenance award, GrowMaster certification at SSC

Steve Brown of Washington- Wilkes has received the maintenance award and GrowMaster certification from Southern States Cooperative Inc., Washington Service. Brown is the local fertilizer and crop protection product applicator at Southern States.

He earned his company's GrowMaster certification for his vehicle and himself in competition with driver-applicators from four area facilities.

The GrowMaster certification is awarded for application rigs main-

tained in top condition, and their drivers, to recognize those equipped to provide the highest level of service to Southern States member-producers.

"Experience has shown the friendly but intense competition for these GrowMaster certification awards is an ideal way to make sure our vehicles and drivers are ready to provide our customers with accurate and dependable application services," said Jobie Miller, Southern States vice-president of retail operations.
