Edwin Durham

Graveside services for Edwin Durham, 71, of Spring Street, Washington, were held Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Roy Cates officiating. He died Friday, November 24, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mr. Durham was a native of Taliaferro County and was the son of the late John Durham and Blueford Madge Rider Durham. He was a supervisor in bridge construction and was the widower of Mamie Dunnaway Durham. He was a Master Mason and a member of Lafayette Lodge #23 F&AM, and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Durham and Richard Swann, both of Washington; two daughters, Nancy Lewis, Greensboro, and Dawn Cosby, Washington; two brothers, Graham Durham of Conyers and Dave Durham of Virginia; three sisters, Ruth Edwards and Blueford Taylor of Union Point, and Minnie Marchman, Milledgeville; 10 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers included Sid Robb, Lester Gales, Alex Dunnaway, Peyton McGill, Brian George, and Danny Cosby.

Hopkins Funereal Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
