Wrestling season begins with good showing by W-WMS team; Young continues at EGC

Devinn Ferris and Brandon Turner, Washington-Wilkes Middle School wrestlers, won first place at the Trojan War wrestling meet at North Hall on November 25. David Martin, James McAvoy, and Chad Cordell also competed and won second place in their weight classes. Matthew Howard and Terrance Walton won medals for third place in their classes. Other middle school wrestlers who scored wins at the tournament were Josh Eskew, Rob Lovvorn, Tom Saggus, Will Lawson, and Andrew White.

Ethan Ramos, a USA wrestler, took first place in his weight class in a tournament at Apalachee High School last Saturday.

Mathew Young, a former Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School wrestler, is currently wres-

tling at East Georgia College in Swainsboro. Mathew is a freshman competing in the 157-pound weight class. He recently won third place in the Bear Open at Mercer University.
