James Robert Conly

James Robert Conly, 59, of Winton Lane, Washington, died November 20, 2006, at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Conly was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, and had lived in Wilkes County for five years. He was a retired special services technician for Bell South, and was the son of the late Robert C. Conly and Betty Zora Thomas Conly. He was a member of the Pioneers of America.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Wheeler Conly, Washington; a daughter, Susan Tressy, Avon, CT; a son, Steven M. Conly, Avon, CT; three step-daughters, Kristine Scheets, Washington, Kelli Lincoln, Sebastian, Fla., and Donna Stephenson, Washington; a stepson, Beau Scheets, Port St. Lucie, Fla; a brother, Charles Conly, Estero, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
