Ashley Branan, Brad Sheffield honored at engagement party

Ashley Branan and Brad Sheffield were entertained at an engagement party hosted by the Sea Island Bank in Statesboro at the Averitt Cultural Arts Center, also in Statesboro, Thursday evening, November 30.

Mr. Sheffield is an employee of Sea Island Bank and he and Miss Branan are planning an April wedding.

For the party Miss Branan chose a pine green velveteen top and pine green satin skirt embellished with crystals and sequins.

As guests arrived, they were invited to register in the guest book placed on a table near the entrance to the hall. Also on this table was a collection of the couple's engagement pictures.

Tables were covered with white damask linens overlaid in green

satin. Arrangements of evergreen and red berries in crystal containers filled with cranberries centered the food and beverage tables.

Guests dined on a delicious assortment of party foods, punch and tea, all beautifully served from silver appointments.

Wayne Akins, Sea Island Bank CEO, offered a special prayer and blessing for the couple during the evening.

The hosts presented the couple a monogrammed Lucite serving tray and ice bucket.

Two hundred fifty guests were invited. Special guests included the bride-elect's parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Branan of Washington; and the prospective bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sheffield of Screven.
