The Tignall Homemakers Club will meet for its bingo-luncheon Thursday, December 21, 12:30 p.m., at the home of Sally Kennedy.
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, will have a Christmas program Saturday, December 16, 3 p.m., with the youth department in charge. The drama team will be performing.

The Wilkes County Branch NAACP will celebrate the 144th Emancipation (Jubilee Day) with a program on January 1, 2007. The program will be held at 12:00 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Mission Center, McLendon Drive, Washington, with Rev. Christopher Andrews as the keynote speaker. Rev. G.L. Avery is president of the Wilkes County Branch.
Wilkes Transit and the Wilkes County Senior Center will be closed December 22 through January 1 and will re-open January 2, 2007.

A called meeting of the 911 Board of Directors will be held Friday, December 15, 8:30 a.m., in the office of Wilkes County Chairman of Commissioners Sam Moore. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss 911 operations and procedures.
