Amy Lannae entertained at Trim-the-Tree party Amy Lannae, bride-elect of John Broadnax of Athens, was feted at an afternoon Trim-the-Tree Shower given by Ellen Cowne at her home in Colbert. For the festive occasion Miss Lannae wore a two-piece ensemble. The brown full skirt featured floral appliqués scattered about the hemline. The complementing top was accented with a corsage of purple statice and colored chrysanthemums with jewel-adorned ribbon. As guests arrived, they placed their gifts under a Christmas tree decorated with tiny white lights. This tree was later presented to the bride-elect by Mrs. Cowne. Silver appointments held delicious party foods served from a table overlaid with a beautiful antique crocheted cloth. Hot punch and wine were poured from another table. Mrs. Cowne was assisted by her daughters and granddaughter, Maggie Cowne of Colbert, Beegee Moore of Athens, and LeeAnna Elder and Ellie of Monroe, in entertaining.
