Mary C. Reid WOM members meet for Week of Prayer

The Mary C. Reid Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met Tuesday morning, December 5, in the Conference Room of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dennis Hopkins presided and offered a prayer for those with special needs.

After the business meeting Mrs. Gene Pollock, Mrs. James Johnson and Mrs. Hopkins presented the Week of Prayer for International Missions program focusing on West Africa. Mrs. Hopkins spoke about Senegal where there are only 50 true Christians and Mrs. Johnson told of an African-American couple who are missionaries to the Wolof people of Senegal. Mrs. Pollock described the nomadic Falani people of Nigeria and a veterinarian missionary’s work with them and their cattle.

Following the program, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Frank Story gave the prayer calendar.

Mrs. Pollock offered the closing prayer.

Members present were Mrs. Joe Harris, Mrs. Dennis Hopkins, Mrs. James Johnson, Mrs. Gene Pollock, Mrs. Charles Reese and Mrs. Frank Story.
