Rev. Lamar Davenport passes

A memorial service for Rev. Lamar Davenport Jr., licensed funeral director and owner of Davenport McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington, will be held Friday, December 22, 2006. Rev. Davenport died Tuesday, December 19, at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.
The service will be held at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 306 Baltimore Road, at 7 p.m. Rev. Davenport was at one time pastor of the Mt. Carmel church and of Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church, Washington; Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Warrenton; Friendship Baptist Church, Crawfordville; and New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath.
The funeral service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 23, at 12 noon at New Springhill Baptist Church, Highway 22, Philomath.
