Library offers new books to read during holidays

The Mary Willis Library has several new books which may appeal to readers during the Christmas holidays. In the children’s area, recently purchased titles include “Nature’s Children Working Dogs and Cats;” “The Magic School Bus;” “Inside the Human Body;” and “Parrots and Other Birds.”

In the adult collection there are “The Fair Tax Book” by Boortz;” “Women’s Letters” by Lisa Grunwald and Stephen J. Adler;” “It’s Not About the Bike” by Lance Armstrong; “Wisdom of Our Fathers” by Tim Russert; “The Winter Garden” by Val Bourne;” and many more.

“The staff finds it to be such a pleasure to serve at the Mary Willis Library, the oldest free library in the State of Georgia founded in 1888, and the citizens of Wilkes County,” says Lillie Crowe, Mary Willis Library director. “We would like to invite our patrons to stop by and enjoy our beautiful Christmas tree which was donated by Bunny Bundy, and all the festive holiday decorations within the library,” Crowe said.

The library will be closed December 22-26, and New Year’s Day, January 1.
