Washington Shrine Club elects officers for 2007

Washington Shrine Club officers for 2007 are (l-r) Bob Lentz, Don Potts, James Jones, Ryan Hite, and Dan Durham.
The Washington Shrine Club has elected officers to serve the club for the year 2007.

These officers are: James Jones, president; Don Potts, first vicepresident; Bob Lentz, second vicepresident; Ryan Hite, secretary; and Dan Durham, treasurer.

Members of the club express appreciation to the residents of Wilkes County for their support of the club’s activities during 2006. This support has enabled the club to make generous donations to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children.

More than 735,000 children have been helped at the 22 Shriners hospitals located in North America and Mexico. In past years, several local children have been admitted to area Shrine hospitals for treatment. These treatments are at no cost to the families of the children.

The hospitals function solely on donations made by the public. The donations are tax deductible. Ninety-three percent of the Shriners’ operating budget is used directly for patient care and research at these hospitals. The other seven percent is used for advertising and administrative fees for the hospitals.
