Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss and Mrs. James Sherrer visited Mrs. Evans Davis Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the Christmas party at Washington Manor Thursday evening. It’s such a joy to see the residents enjoy the time spent with family and friends and all the gifts they receive. They especially had fun when Santa Claus came in but really Santa had more fun than anyone. James has been Santa at their parties for several years. After the party at the Manor they joined the Gideons at the Georgia Baptist Center for their annual Christmas party. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and the fellowship. So we were fortunate to be able to attend two nice parties in one night. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Caldwell spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer. They attended the Lincoln County football game Saturday night. Those coming to have Christmas dinner with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Branham of McCaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Josh Caldwell of Statesboro; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hayden, Ryan and Philip of Martinez; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huff of Athens; Ray Branham, Whitney and Charlie. James Sherrer went to Carlton Friday to work in Fork Cemetery and place flowers in the Sherrer family lot. He also visited Mrs. Louise Glenn and Don Glenn. I hope everyone will have a very Merry Christmas. The following statement was in a Christmas card we received. I want to share it: “This is the perfect time of year to remember God’s love, to celebrate His goodness, to trust in His faithfulness, to proclaim His mercies, and to embrace the gift of His Son.”
