RAYLE NEWS
By Bonnie Boatwright Call 274-3264

The Christmas lights and decorations get prettier every year. The little village of Willisville on the Philomath Road is spectacular with all the lights and displays. On Highway 78 the homes of James and Liz Bolton, Norman and Joan Echols (The Echols Home), Mr. and Mrs. Brian Mathews, Larry and Janice Callaway, and Joan Perez are pretty. The home of George and Mozelle Casey on the Centerville Road and the home of Bonnie Creel on Columbus Granade Road are also ones to see in all their splendor and glory. I know there are others, but I have just not been out much at night to see them. A drop-in 75th birthday celebration honoring Josephine Orr will be in the annex of Sardis Baptist Church Saturday, December 23, from 2-4 p.m. Family and friends

are invited to share in this occasion. A reception was held Wednesday at the courthouse in Washington to celebrate the retirement of Marshall Sherrer and honor him for his many years of serving the county as a commissioner. Many from our community attended. Bonnie Boatwright spent Thursday with her sister, Martha Jones in Bogart. Frankie Jones of Athens and James Smith of Stephens joined them at Longhorn’s Steak House for lunch. After lunch Frankie joined Martha and Bonnie at Martha’s house to chat. J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright went to Athens Friday for J.W.’s appointment at the Veterans Administration Clinic. They enjoyed eating breakfast at the Waffle House. I hope all of you have a nice week and a very merry Christmas.
