Little River churches set Christmas Eve services

The Little River family of churches – Smyrna United Methodist Church, Bethel UMC, and Mount Zion UMC – will be hosting a special Christmas Eve service this Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at Bethel UMC located at 3684 Scull Shoals Road. This special celebration brings together all three churches in song and worship and will be led by Pastor Craig Yoshihara.

Members of all three churches will be taking part in the joint service which occurs only twice a year. All people are welcome to come and participate in this wonderful celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Later on Christmas Eve, beginning at 5 p.m. at Smyrna UMC, the Little River family of churches will host a candlelight communion service for all members of the community, their friends, and family. The doors to the church will be open for this event from 5-7 p.m.

Services will begin with a reading, a few Christmas hymns, and then the blessing of the elements. Those who wish to spend a moment in reflective prayer and join the communion table are welcome to come any time during the two hours.

After the blessing, the pastor will remain at the church and offer communion to anyone who wishes to have it. You need not be there when the service begins.
