Shoeboxes bring Christmas cheer
Margie Burke (center) gives Christmas greetings to residents of Wilkes Health Care last Wednesday as she and other volunteers pass out “Shoeboxes of Love and Care” put together by members of the community. “It was so touching to help folks open their box and explore all the goodies that were packed inside,” she said. “They were so appreciative of the effort that showed someone cared for them.” Some 60 shoeboxes were distributed to residents of Wilkes Health Care and of Washington Manor.
