Robert Wesley Burgess Funeral services for Robert Wesley Burgess, 66, of Bethany Church Road, Lincolnton, were held Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Cates and Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, December 10, at his residence. Mr. Burgess was the son of the late Leslie and Lillie Martin Burgess and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. He was a contractor and painter. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Turner Burgess; a son, David Burgess, Lincolnton; two daughters, Michelle Burgess of Suwanee, and Lisa B. Safrit and her husband Chad of Washington; a brother, Edwin Burgess of Lincolnton; two sisters, Rosa Lee Ashmore and Gail Burgess, both of Lincolnton; and six grandchildren.
Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
