Bishops host fellowship for Adult Bible Searchers Class

The home of Bill and Teresa Bishop was the scene of the Adult Bible Searchers Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church Christmas fellowship on Friday evening, December 15.

Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands and lights adorned the front of the home. A beautiful Christmas tree decorated the living room. Windows held greenery, holiday accents and votives.

The dining table, covered in a poinsettias-accented cloth, was cen- tered with a large red pillar candle banked with fresh cedar. The mantel featured red pillar candles nestled in greenery and festive Christmas stockings. A sideboard was decorated with a lighted Christmas village in a snow-covered setting.

The sunroom also held tables for guests. These held white and light beige cloths and crystal candlesticks with red tapers amid clusters of fresh cedar. Holiday napkins were accented with jingle bell napkin rings.

Mr. Bishop, class president, welcomed members and guests and expressed appreciation to class teachers, Kerry McAvoy and Jeff Franklin, with gifts to the Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions in their honor. He also offered the blessing before the bountiful covered dish dinner.

After dinner and dessert, all gathered in the sunroom for the annual gift exchange which brought much laughter as the gifts ranged from nice, useful, to a bit zany and some surely to be seen again at next year’s gathering. Mrs. Bishop presented each guest a party favor.

The evening ended with the traditional singing of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Those attending with the Bishops were Kay and Pug Nelms, Sharon and Wayne Williamson, Donna and Benjie Edwards, Lynne and Gene Land, Lisa Franklin, Susan and Edward Pope Jr., Gail and David Hunter, Melanie and Tom Wells, Louise and David McClearen, Nancy and Kerry McAvoy, Priscilla and Ray Moore, and Dean and Gary Mansfield.
