Attendance was good at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church on Christmas Eve. It was nice for the members to have their families and friends to join them for the worship service. Attendance was down a bit on New Year's Eve but we had good services and a lot of delicious food at the covered dish meal. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine of Dahlonega spent the week at their home here. They visited Mrs. Evans Davis several times and also accompanied her to services at Clifford's Grove on Christmas Eve. Mrs. Evans Davis spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins and family in Augusta. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer returned home Tuesday after spending Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Coxe and Edna Sherrer in Bennettsville, S.C. On Christmas Eve they attended 9 a.m. worship service at Smyrna United Methodist Church with Mr. and Mrs. Coxe, then joined Edna for the 11 a.m. service at Second Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sherrer, Nikki and Jamie of Raleigh came that afternoon. That evening all the family attended a special Christmas Eve Communion service at Shiloh United Methodist Church. We had some beautiful weather in December, but this Monday morning, the first day of 2007, is a rainy, gloomy day. I guess most folks will stay inside and get some needed rest after the busy holidays. I wish for everyone a happy and prosperous new year and may God bless America.
