We were glad to have Rev. James Bland with us at prayer meeting at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Wednesday night. ..Mrs. Philip Huff and Mrs. James Sherrer went to Greenwood, S.C., last Monday to see Mrs. Elizabeth Huff at Wesley Commons Health Center. Her son, John Fradella, joined them and they all had lunch at Ryan's Restaurant. ..Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer visited Mrs. Louise Berryman and Mrs. Carolyn Eberhart at Magnolia Estates personal care home in Elberton Tuesday. Both ladies were from Carlton and longtime friends of the Sherrer family. They then went to Cobb Health Care in Comer to see Mrs. Sidney Ann Stoyles. In Carlton they visited Mr. and Mrs. Bud Spinks and Mrs. Louise Glenn. ..Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty attended the Cirque du Soleil, a French performance in a circus-like tent at Downtown Atlanta Station Sunday afternoon. ..On their way to Atlanta Sunday morning, Mr. and Mrs. McCarty stopped in Sharon to see Madison Kay who was celebrating her second birthday. ..Mr. and Mrs. James Braxton III of St. Simons spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. James Braxton. Sunday they attended services at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church. .. Heavy's Barbecue Restaurant near Crawfordville was the scene of the birthday celebration for Mrs. Sara Dees Sunday afternoon. Joining her for the occasion were Boyce Lance of White; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ansley and Jacob, and his friend of Thomson; Chris Lance of Griffin; Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Lance of Fort Oglethorpe; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lance of Lexington; Rev. and Mrs. John Lance of Crawfordville; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Mrs. Jamie Atkinson, Meredith Smith, Dehstiny and Tiya, Hope Davis, and Shannon Turner. This was the first time Sara and all six of her brothers had been together in about six years. It was a very happy time for her. .. After five o'clock services at Wilkes County Baptist Church Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer were among those who enjoyed ice cream and cake honoring Mrs. Gene Wilson whose birthday was the next day, January 22.
