Funeral services for Geraldine R. D. Harris, 52, were held Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at Zoah Church, Washington, with Rev. Dennis Quinn officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died January 6 at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.

Mrs. Harris was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late John W. Zellars Gartrell and Gladys F. Zellars. She was a 1972 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and was married to Bobby J. Mills, and later, Thomas Harris.

Survivors include a son, Bobby J. Mills II; a daughter, Tena D. Mills, both of Lincolnton; two sisters, Carrie Z. Meyer and Henrietta Winfrey, both of Lincolnton; four brothers, Perry Zellars, Norris Zellars, and McNiel Zellars, all of Augusta, and John W. Gartrell II of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Tirque J. Mills, Nydia C. Pearson, and N-dyia S. Person, all of Lincolnton.

Pallbearears included Leroy Walker, Frank Elam, Bill Gartrell, Sylis Culars, Calvin Walker, Rashawn Bennet, and Joseph Meyers.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
