      When will it end? All the prosperity preaching. I guess as long as there are television ministries with gaudy studio furnishings and extravagant budgets. They bring in these young fireball preachers that make Rev. Ike look like Mr. Rogers. They can spit out words as fast as a wood chipper can spit out chips and it's all about prosperity.

McMillian to serve as pastor at Beaverdam Baptist Church
      Rev. John McMillian of Eatonton has accepted the call to be pastor of Beaverdam Baptist Church. The unanimous vote of Beaverdam members to call him came January 21 after having appreciated his Sunday morning messages since January 7. Rev. McMillian has been in the ministry 57 years and is well-known throughout the Georgia Baptist Association.

      Priscilla Maxwell represented Phillips Mill Baptist Church at the Executive Committee Meeting of the Georgia Baptist Association on Tuesday night, January 23. Attendance was somewhat off for various reasons. Rev. Norman Waldrip called the meeting to order.
