Funeral services for Lucius "Luke" Perry, 47, were held Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Hilliard Station Baptist Church in Wilkes County with Rev. Dennis Quinn officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with military honors. He died Monday, January 15, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.

Mr. Perry was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Ellise Perry. He was a member of Hilliard Station Baptist Church and attended Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School. He served in the United States Army for 10 years and was employed with Nex- Pak in Lawrenceville as a maintenance technician.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean Freeman Perry; three children, Tanisha A. Perry, Janikka Y. Perry, and Tiemeyer A. Perry; three grandchildren; five sisters, Elizabeth Kendrick, Laura Scott, Nancy Bell, Hattie Ramsey, and Carolyn Richards; and three brothers, Willie Perry, Randy Perry, and Gerald Perry.

Pallbearers included members of the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Class of 1978, Kim Coleman and Robert James.

Davenport & McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
