Church of the Mediator welcomes Mosses at reception held Jan. 28
Marion Slaton and Betty Slaton (left) welcome the Rev. Dr. Denise Moss and the Rev. Dr. David Moss to the reception at the Slaton home Sunday. The Vestry of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator entertained at a reception honoring the Rev. Dr. Denise Moss and the Rev. Dr. David Moss and marking their arrival to Washington where she will begin her ministry at the church.
The occasion was held at the home of Betty Slaton on East Robert Toombs Avenue Sunday afternoon, January 28.
The Mosses will soon be moving from Atlanta and making their home in the Rectory on Liberty Street.
Guests were welcomed to the Slaton home and greeted in the foyer where a lovely arrangement of mixed flowers was used in decorating. Other floral arrangements of camellias were used throughout.
The couple received guests in the parlor. Guests were then invited into the dining room for refreshments brought by members of the church, punch and coffee. The dining table held an elegant silver epergne of Alstroemeria lilies, white chrysanthemums, camellias and greenery.
Guests included members of the church as well as those from other denominations in the community, the Mayor and City Council, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and the County Commissioners. Attending from out-of-town were Marion Slaton of Atlanta and Jimmy and Boyce Davis of Athens.
