Woman's Club scholarship dinner set for February 12
The Woman's Club of Washington will again celebrate the season by hosting the John Duggan Memorial Scholarship Dinner at the clubhouse on Monday evening, February 12, at 7 p.m.
The evening promises to be delightful as a wonderful menu and program is planned.
Guests will be served a steak fare with all the trimmings and be treated to a musical program presented by Ashley Turner Barnett and Peyson Moss.
The focus of the event is the John Duggan Memorial Scholarship and proceeds from the evening will go to the scholarship fund established by the club in memory of John Duggan who died in l972 after a valiant battle with cancer. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving Wilkes County graduating senior. The first recipient was Beverly Cullars in l978. It has been presented every year but one since l978.
The event is open to anyone, male or female, who would like to attend. Reservations are required and tickets for the dinner are $15. Tickets can be obtained from any Woman's Club member or by calling Jean Steed at 706-678-6920.
