Ed George honored at 65th birthday celebration Jan. 13

Ed George was treated to a birthday celebration in honor of his 65th birthday on Saturday, January 13, at his home given by his wife, Roberta George.

Mr. George, a retired State Trooper, was honored with a birthday cake decorated with a Georgia Department of Public Safety emblem and his badge number 553 on one side and golfers and greens with flags on the other denoting one of his favorite pastimes.

Celebrating with the Georges were retired State Troopers Jerry Walker, Jesse Moore and wife Connie, and Linton Scott, all of Washington; David Hunt and Wesley King and wife Connie, of Elberton; also Trooper Dale Branch and wife Bonnie.

Golfing buddies Pierce Barden and wife Joyce, and John Overstreet and wife Kathy, were also guests.

Others attending were neighbors and friends, James and Linda Smith, Mark and Darla Ward, Willie Frank and Joyce Blackburn, Joanne Morton, Matt Morton, Amos and Rosa Lee Martin, Jeff and Libby Foster, Kerry and Nancy McAvoy, Wayne and Nancy Madden of Washington; Travis Armour of Bear Creek, N.C.; Richard and Caroline Ward of Milledgeville; Debi Hughes of Barnesville; Jan Alverson of Birmingham, Ala.; and children and grandchildren, Robert and Paula Stevens, Douglas and Dalton, and Brian and Tara George, William and Amber, of Washington.
