BRR! I have never seen so much cold weather. It seems like it does not even warm up through the day. Do you reckon it is that I am getting older and I just think it's colder? He gave very interesting information about the work of the Gideons and the stories they tell of being involved in getting the Bibles out to all the world. Rebekah Echols was pianist for the service and Pam Hall led in the singing. Ethan Armour held children's church and Adrianne Echols kept the nursery. During Sunday School the congregation sang "Happy Birthday" to Billy Amason and Jack Armour who both had celebrated a birthday on February 15. Next Sunday there will be an election for the new pastor. All members of the church are urged to attend and make your vote count. Prayer meeting will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Echols Home. ..The youth and young at heart of Sardis Baptist Church went to the Augusta Lynx game of ice hockey Friday night. Those going were Danny Gunter and Maddie, Angela Armour, Cody and Hunter, Adriane Echols and Anthony, Boyce Hall and Lindley, Keaton Wilson, Dylan Armour, Rebekah Echols, Denise Armour and Jackson. ..Avery Hall spent Friday night and Saturday with Wes Tanner in Washington. ..Our heartfelt sympathy to Skip and Kathryn Padgett in the death of her mother, Mrs. Frances Van Ronk of Ohio. She was a sweet lady who was known and loved by many people of the community as she lived here with the Padgetts for a while.
