New Springhill Baptist sets men's conference Mar. 3-4

New Springhill Baptist Church at Philomath will have a men's conference and program on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4.

The theme for the conference on March 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. is "Men Preparing to Go Be with Jesus," and will have several outstanding speakers.

Dr. John A. Lockhart, facilitator of Agape International Christian University located at the Union Missionary Baptist Church in the Mayfield community near Sparta, will be speaking on "God's Armor Bearer."

Greg Hylick, chief of classification and position management, Civilian Personnel Division of Robins Air Force Base, will be speaking on "Through God Everything Is Possible."

Attorney John M. Clarke, the first African-American to practice law in Elberton, will be speaking on "The Struggle Continues;" and State Representative Tyrone Brooks, president of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, will speak on "Going Against the Odds."

The Men's Day Program is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Abraham Mosley and the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Athens will be guests for the occasion.

Breakfast will be served before the conference from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m., and lunch will be provided at the close of the conference. Dinner will be served at 1:45 p.m. before the Sunday program.
