Mr. and Mrs. Christopher R. Drinkard of Statesboro announce the birth of their son, Daniel Reid, on Sunday, February 18, at Memorial Health Center in Savannah. Daniel weighed 9 lbs. 9 ozs. and was 22 inches long. He has a sister, Susanna, who will be two years old in April.

Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. David Hanks of Augusta. Maternal great-grandparents are Mrs. Jane Shelton Bowers of Chattanooga, Tenn., the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clayton Bowers of LaGrange and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Daniel Hanks of Rome.

Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Drinkard of Athens, formerly of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Reid Drinkard of Lincolnton and Mrs. Sadie Bothwell and the late Thomas Bothwell of Carthage, N.C., are the paternal great-grandparents.

Mrs. Drinkard is the former Cary Wheeler Hanks of Augusta.
