Toni Roberson entertained at miscellaneous shower

Toni Roberson, bride-elect of Tom Callaway, was entertained with a miscellaneous shower on Sunday afternoon, February 18, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hudson in Washington. Joining Mrs. Hudson in hosting the event were Mrs. Aaron Parton of Lincolnton; Mrs. Jimmy Rutherford of Crawfordville; Mrs. Barry Thompson and Mrs. Lillian Smith of Washington.

For the occasion Miss Roberson chose a black dress and black cardigan. She was presented a complementing corsage of delicate red roses tied with red and white ribbon.

The Hudson home was beautifully decorated with hearts and flowers to carry out the Valentine theme.

Guests were greeted at the front door and invited to the dining area where delicious strawberry shortcake was served.

The hostesses presented the brideelect a Gorham Lady Anne cake knife and server in addition to matching champagne flutes.

Over 130 guests were invited. Special guests during the afternoon were the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Rodney Roberson of Washington; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Faye Callaway of Tignall; also the bride-elect's grandmothers, Mrs. Gayle Roberson of Washington and Mrs. Harry Par- tridge of Lincolnton, and greatgrandmother, Mrs. Thomas McAvoy of Washington.
