Hostesses for the occasion were Trudie Gallo of Augusta, Mary Lois Akins-Newsome, Carol Souther, Joy Martin, Amy Echols, Tiffani Andrews, Lisa Newsome, Lynn Connell, Evelyn George and Nancy Madden.
Miss Wells chose for the occasion an ensemble of a watermelon pink sweater and black slacks. She was presented a corsage of daisies, wax flowers, lime green miniature pompons accented with measuring spoons.
A forsythia wreath on the front door beckoned guests inside where beautiful arrangements of spring flowers were used to decorate.
The guest register table continued the theme and also featured engagement pictures of the couple.
The mantels held beautiful camellias and candles.
Army-Navy cloths covered the tables. The buffet showcased a beautiful display of forsythia, Japanese magnolia blossoms, camellias and rosemary while other tables for seating featured camellia blossoms.
A delicious assortment of party foods was served with punch.
Miss Wells was presented the platter in her chosen Lenox Butler pattern by her hostesses.
Eighty guests were invited. Special guests included the bride-elect's mother, Vonice Wells, and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Cherry Andrews, both of Washington. Out-of-town guests attending were Wanda Jenkins of Thomson, LaShea Branton of Watkinsville, Margaret Duck of Greensboro, Jessica Burton and Ryan Weeks of Cairo and Cathy Bryant of Lincolnton.
