The next regular meeting of the Wilkes County Department of Family and Children Services Board of Directors will be held Tuesday, March 20, 10 a.m., at the Edward B. Pope Community Center.

A "This Is Your Life" celebration in honor of Annie "Pie" Wilkinson who has served 55 years at Wills Memorial Hospital is being planned. The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation Department Fifth Annual Cheerleading Competition 2007 will be held Saturday, March 24, 11 a.m., at the WWPRD gym. Admission is $2 for adults; $1 for students; and free for children under five.

Self-guided audio tours of Washington's historic Resthaven Cemetery are available at the Washington Historical Museum on East Robert Toombs Avenue.
