Dr. Les Sales from Wilkes County Veterinary Services spoke to the Wilkes County 4-H Horse Club on Tuesday, April 3, about safety and first aid for the horse and rider. Dr. Sales demonstrated the proper ways to care for wounds and injuries on the trail and around the farm as well as preventive maintenance tips.

Other topics at the meeting were updates on the judging team, progress on the refurbishment of the arena at the McGill-Woodruff Ag Center, and information for the 2007 Horse School to be held in June in Perry.

The club members expressed their appreciation to Dr. Sales for his interest and support of the horse club.
