Miriam Murphy-Gary and her sister Grace Murphy-Gary, daughters of Mary Elizabeth Murphy of Watkinsville, have earned honors through their school and dance venues.

Miriam has been chosen as a recipient of the Scholastic Young Authors Award in the State of Georgia for fourth graders.

Grace has been chosen for the second consecutive year to dance in the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston with the Dancefx Company of Athens.

Both girls are granddaughters of Bob and Carole Murphy of Bishop and the great-granddaughters of Mabel Johnson of Washington.
