Lindsey Callaway to graduate May 12 from Oglethorpe U.

LINDSEY CALLAWAY LINDSEY CALLAWAY Lindsey Callaway of Washington- Wilkes will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta during graduation exercises Saturday, May 12, at 9 a.m.

Lindsey is the daughter of Brenda Layman Callaway and Jimmy Bailey and the late Gary Owen Callaway of Washington-Wilkes.

She attended Briarwood Academy and is a 2004 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School. While at Oglethorpe University she was the president of the Oglethorpe Christian Fellowship; vice-president of the Pan Hellenic Council; a member of Chi Omega fraternity, Psy Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, Alpha Pi Omega Service Fraternity, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon sweetheart.

She also served as student advisor to the board of trustees and was the founder of the Interfaith Council (as heard on NPR and CNN). She was president pro-tem of the Oglethorpe Student Government, 2006-07, and threw the javelin on the 2004 track team.

Lindsey was also one of the founding student leaders of the Center for Civic Engagement which opened in 2006. She will be working at Northpoint Community Church in Alpharetta this summer and will be deployed through the Peace Corps in August.
