Church of Christ plans singing and giveaway June 2
      Washington's Church of Christ will have special events during the first week of June. On June 2 at 11 a.m, at the Church of Christ on Lexington Avenue, produce will be given away to the elderly and the needy. Also, there will be singing on Tthe Square from 2-4 p.m. Simultaneous events in neighboring cities will also take place.

Baptist graduates honored at brunch; Bibles presented
      The youth department of Tignall Baptist Church hosted a brunch to honor four high school graduates. The seniors honored were Charlton Ware, Kason Bradley, Trey McCants, and Steven Warren. Each of these graduates was presented a Bible. There was a 2007 senior quote from Charlton Ware in the church bulletin: "As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in school.

Carter's Grove homecoming well-attended, inspirational
      Carter's Grove Baptist Church on Highway 22 where my mother, the late Martha Jane "Mattie" Sherrer Johnson, grew up as one of nine children of the late William Hill and Mary Lou "Mamie" Nash Sherrer, was well attended. I was so happy our daughter, Mary Jane Scarborough, and grandson, Tyler, carried me.

Beaverdam sets revival services for June 4-6 at 7
      Beaverdam Baptist church will have revival services Monday, June 4, through Wednesday, June 6, with services beginning each evening at 7 o'clock. Monday and Tuesday evenings. the sermons will be by Rev. John McMillian Jr., pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton. Rev. James Bland, Georgia Baptist Association Missionary, will preach Wednesday evening.
